The Chat came up with a discussion that was both "what is enlightenment" and then "how do we express baby steps?"

What would be a small baby step towards enlightenment?

To start, to examine choices:  are they being made out of fear or love?  Because if you recognize that these are choices under your own control you can move into love and leave fear behind.

Something that might not be too hard to do:  Approach every individual with kindness and love.  I do think, though, that you have to love yourself first.  Since we are all one - we're here on Earth to experience separation - if we don't love ourselves, we cannot truly love someone else (or our other self).

For me, the first step would seem to be the acknowledgement that there is more to reality than what my five senses can feel....that I am more than just a body.  Next, I would ask, then what am I?  Am I my thoughts?  Or as Eckhert Tolle says, I am the consciousness between the thoughts.
But, before we even go there, we have to define enlightenment.  Is it just being in the NOW, or something else?
It seems that there is a character limit, so I didn't get to say that I don't know if we defined "enlightenment" in our meditation call today, since I was absent during most of the discussion.

I have reminders around about who I want to be….idea of being a bringer of the light. Also do things like widening peripheral vision which creates a relaxation response and reminds me of being up high like like on a scenic overlook, That  helps me remember who I really am/ who we really are, spiritual beings having a human lifetime.

A small part of enlightenment for me is to become aware of how I might be impacting others in a negative way without my realizing it.
Haven’t seen a definition of enlightenment I like. Another small part of enlightenment for me is getting rid of beliefs.

I will put a little compilation together tomorrow which reviews original group on enlightenment.  But here's a relevant quote:

Liz: Growth doesn’t occur in a vacuum. One must immerse himself in something — relate with someone — in order to grow, right?
A:  Spiritual growth is an extremely active process, but many times, it isolates you from the mainstream — this is what we are saying. Spiritual enlightenment, which is indeed a byproduct, is an ecstatic experience to which nothing can possibly compare.

I think the original question might be more the spiritual growth component.

LOL Mike you are hitting all the key concepts.  You are on fire!  How about: Beliefs -- there are the beliefs that are imprinting that need to go, but then there is the need to keep beliefs mutable, flexible, without attachment, in order to grow spiritually imo.

Added to the Forum, a Compilation on Enlightenment.

Following our session last Tuesday, I would like to share a few additional thoughts on enlightenment.

First of all, I believe it would be helpful to arrive at a shared understanding of what enlightenment actually is. I suppose everyone has somewhat different individual ideas about it.

In my view, enlightenment is the pinnacle state of consciousness at the end of the ascending path of love (agape) and knowledge, and both are present here in abundance and depth. It is the highest state of consciousness that can occur in the human body — a state that only a handful of souls can enter into. For this reason, such an extremely rare and precious phenomenon should be treated with care and humility in language, and any inflationary use of the term should be avoided.

Nevertheless, I think enlightenment can be regarded as a notional ultimate goal — recognizing that it may never be fully attained, yet still guiding the general direction of one’s personal spiritual path.

Each moment of choice on this path invites us to recognize and choose the option that contains the most love (Agape), using our thoughts and feelings  to make that selection — consciously or unconsciously. For, as Ra reminds us, "The moment contains love. That is the lesson/goal of this illusion or density." (Ra 10.14)

In this way, we will be able to collectively create a reality that differs positively from the reality we know today.

This attitude accepts the given facts and shows that no spiritual ego is involved, unlike the questioner in the translated transcript of a session, who asked the Die Quelle: “I have been on the spiritual path for a very long time and have left much behind. Am I already enlightened?” (see attachment for the answer)

The “given facts” can be derived from the Map of Consciousness (see attachment) by the American psychiatrist and researcher on consciousness David R. Hawkins, where enlightenment corresponds to the highest calibrated values between 700 and 1000.

In his book Transcending the Levels of Consciousness – The Stairway to Enlightenment, Hawkins provides some incidence data that illustrate how exceptional these levels are:

  • Approximately 78% of the world’s population calibrates below 200

  • Around 4% reach 500; 0.4% reach 540

  • For consciousness level 600, Hawkins states: “Whether the body continues to exist and survives or not is actually irrelevant... In approximately 50% of cases in which this level of consciousness is realized the body is abandoned.” (translated from the German edition)

  • In 1995, the year his book was first published, there were only 12 people worldwide at the extraordinarily high level of 700

Even in states of expanded consciousness — which may be entered into during contemplation, meditation, or near-death experiences — another striking phenomenon may occur, sometimes called “Sudden Access to All-Knowing and Understanding.” I include an example from near-death research (see enclosure) to illustrate this, noting that even such impressive experiences can occur at much lower levels of consciousness than enlightenment. In this context, I would like to emphasize that expansions of consciousness are temporary, whereas enlightenment represents a permanent or at least long-lasting state that may last several days.

Finally, I wonder whether Michael may also have been addressing the topic of enlightenment when he stated (paraphrased): “You have chosen to incarnate in order to experience the physical plane—so don’t strive to escape it.”

I hope this small compilation helps to deepen our discussion of this subject. I look forward to hearing your thoughts at one of our next meetings.

Enclosures (already sent with the previous text):
1. Am I already enlightened?
2. Map of Consciousness
3. Sudden Access to All-Knowing and Understanding

Thank you very much for the great meeting today. As the group exchanged more and more ideas about spiritual growth, the following message from the “Die Quelle” came to mind; it is part of the “Seven Paths of the Soul,” which I translated in April 2022 with the consent of Varda Hasselmann and made available to the Michael Community under the title “Selection of Gems from the Die Quelle Teachings”:

Path 7 - Path of Search
Minus Pole: Unrest - Plus Pole: Drive

The path of search is a path of confusion and unraveling.

He who seeks will always seek. And if he clings to the desire to find, his search will stagnate or freeze. The path of the search is a restless path, which keeps the seekers always in motion. Restlessness and dissatisfaction constantly alternate with calmness and satisfaction. But as soon as the seeker tries to devote himself to rest and enjoy contentment, a new search begins and he must leave behind what he has just won. There is no staying. Nothing remains as it was. What seemed to be found is lost again, and what was certain becomes uncertain, clarity becomes confusion, certainty becomes uncertainty, reason changes into unreason and vice versa.

Within its family the soul is responsible for a dynamizing creative drive on the Path of Search - the Path 7 with its royal, impatient energy quality. Souls who are constantly searching also invite others not to be content. They encourage all their soul siblings not to rest until the individual goal and mission or task of the soul family have been achieved. They drive development and growth and ensure that no one sinks into a swamp of complacent, fake satisfaction.

By the way, according to "my" Raw Number, this happens to be my path.

Ra Material search on "enlightenment".  [Fair Use -- https://www.lawofone.info/ ]

17.2 Questioner: Is it possible to help an entity to reach fourth-density level in these last days?

Ra: I am Ra. It is impossible to help another being directly. It is only possible to make catalyst available in whatever form, the most important being the radiation of realization of oneness with the Creator from the self, less important being information such as we share with you.

[snip]

We cannot offer shortcuts to enlightenment. Enlightenment is of the moment, is an opening to intelligent infinity. It can only be accomplished by the self, for the self. Another self cannot teach/learn enlightenment, but only teach/learn information, inspiration, or a sharing of love, of mystery, of the unknown that makes the other-self reach out and begin the seeking process that ends in a moment, but who can know when an entity will open the gate to the present?
